Las Vegas Police News Conference: Cops Consider Mass Murderer’s Filipino Girlfriend a Suspect (“Person of Interest”)

Other matters that were discussed by the local undersheriff, an ATF SAC from San Francisco, and the local medical examiner.

• The bump stock attachment killer Stephen Paddock used is legal, because it does not turn a semi-automatic rifle into an automatic weapon.

• The killer fired 12 bursts of rounds over the course of 11 minutes, from 10:08-10:19 p.m.

• The killer had stopped firing long before the SWAT team arrived;

• “59”: Paddock murdered 58 people; the number 59 included him;

• Paddock had set up three different cameras, including one in his hotel room’s peephole;

• A heroic, hotel security guard had gotten to Paddock’s hotel room first, and Paddock had shot and wounded him through the door (at that point, Paddock was no longer firing on the crowd outside);

• 47 weapons were recovered from a combination of Paddock’s hotel room, and two other locations;

• Paddock had bought his weapons in four different states;

• Paddock had wired money to the Philippines; and

• Paddock made his Filipino girlfriend’s relatives very uncomfortable.
